Deer velvet antler is the soft, furry covering of the growing bone and cartilage of deer antlers. It is harvested before the antlers harden into solid bone. Deer velvet antler has been widely used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for many centuries and is generally believed to nourish the Yin, tonify the kidney, invigorate the spleen, strengthen bones and muscles, and promote blood flow12.
